## Two-Way Email Inbox / Email in Conversations
Leadstack already allows users to send emails to contacts from within the CRM, but replies currently go back to the client's external Reply-To mailbox and can't be continued inside Leadstack.
It would be really useful to add **two-way email support** so email becomes another channel inside **Conversations**, alongside SMS, WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram.
### Suggested flow
1. Client connects their existing mailbox, e.g. `enquiries@abcbuilders.com`.
2. User sends an email to a contact from inside Leadstack.
3. Customer receives the email as normal.
4. Customer replies from their email account.
5. Leadstack detects the reply and matches it to the contact using their email address/thread.
6. The reply appears inside the contact's conversation and activity timeline.
7. User can reply again directly from Leadstack.
Ideally, the client's normal mailbox should continue receiving the email as well, so Leadstack isn't replacing their existing email provider — it's simply syncing the conversation.
### Why this would be useful
At the moment a lead can:
**Submit website form → enter Leadstack → receive SMS/email → reply by SMS inside Leadstack**
…but if they reply by email, the conversation moves outside the CRM into the client's normal inbox.
For agencies managing leads on behalf of clients, this means having to monitor both Leadstack and the client's email inbox.
Adding inbound email would make Conversations a genuinely unified inbox:
**SMS | Email | WhatsApp | Messenger | Instagram**
It would also mean the full customer history stays attached to one contact:
* Form submissions
* SMS conversations
* Email conversations
* Calls
* Notes
* Tasks
* Deals
* Pipeline activity
### Nice-to-have additions
* Unread email badge in Conversations
* Email threading rather than individual disconnected messages
* Attachments
* CC/BCC support
* Gmail / Google Workspace connection
* Microsoft 365 / Outlook connection
* Ability to choose which connected mailbox is used per sub-account
* Email replies available as a **Wait for reply** workflow condition
For an agency CRM, this would remove one of the main reasons users still need to leave Leadstack while managing a lead.
